Absolute® Software Corporation, the leading provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and secure IT asset management solutions announced that as a member of the McAfee® Security Innovation Alliance™ (SIA) partner program, Absolute has integrated its Computrace® solution with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) software. The integration, which has been awarded McAfee Compatible status, enables customers to view Computrace tracking and security data within the McAfee ePO console.
Absolute has developed a tested Computrace plug-in for ePO software, which enables Computrace tracking and security data to be displayed within the ePO dashboard. This integrated Computrace and ePO solution allows IT administrators to:
- Use ePO software to deploy the Computrace plug-in on ePO managed assets
- View Computrace plug-in coverage reports that include publisher, product, version and more
- Get periodic summary reports in ePO dashboards on all computers or mobile smartphones that have the Computrace Agent installed, and identify potential problems based on agent call patterns
- Determine when it is appropriate to take additional action in the Absolute Customer Center for geolocation tracking, recovery of missing assets, and/or performing remote Data Deletes.
"With Absolute as part of the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance program, our customers can have a more holistic view of their IT security to determine if they are secure, compliant or at risk," said Rich Cohen, Senior Vice President, Business Development at Absolute. "The Computrace plug-in for ePolicy Orchestrator will help lower their overall cost of managing security while at the same time improving operational performance through an enhanced integration."
McAfee ePO allows enterprises and governments to centrally manage security and compliance products from multiple vendors, offering unprecedented cost savings and return on investment. With more than 35,000 customers and managing close to 60 million computers and servers, this unique platform is helping McAfee SIA partners to extend their reach and create complementary functionality.
“We’re pleased to see Absolute Software complete their integration and testing with ePolicy Orchestrator software as part of the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance program,” said Joe Gottlieb, vice president of corporate strategy and technology alliances, McAfee. “Benefits of our joint solution include reduced operational costs, greater protection, and improved compliance.”
AvailabilityThe Computrace plug-in is available to Absolute customers at no additional cost. Absolute customers can get a complimentary copy of ePolicy Orchestrator software directly from McAfee if they do not already have it installed.
